George Smit,

Quality Director

 

George is an analytical chemist with 27 years of experience below his belt. 

He started off in the Sout African gold industry and was later recruited by SGS to west Africa, namely Mauritania Tasiast Project and Tarkwa, Ghana. 

He successfully set up and managed laboratories for several years; one of which was a commercial laboratory in Ghana.

George was then recruited by Glencore, in the DRC, where he was part of the team that lead the Mutanda mining laboratory to be the first in the country to achieve ISO17025 accreditation. 

George's keen eye for detail has assisted him throughout his career to detect unseen flaws in what seems to be sound, quality systems. He is passionate about laboratory quality and audits

Company directors, George and Andre have a wealth of knowledge in the Laboratory Management industry.

 

 

Andre Fouche,

Technical Director

 

With over 30 years of experience, Andre is an analytical Chemist with strong technical and problem-solving skills.

He began his career as an analytical chemist at Anglo American in the South African gold industry. 

Andre was recruited to West Africa as a laboratory manager, but was soon "head-hunted" and recruited to Glencore's Mutanda mine in the DRC. 

He commissioned and managed the Mutanda laboratory, which would later become not only one of the largest copper and cobalt laboratories in the world, but also the first ISO17025 accredited mining laboratory in the DRC.
